Hi,

I’m writing this on behalf of a friend of mine named Lucy...

Lucy is a very caring person who strives to see everyone around her achieve success and happiness. In a way, you could say that she has dedicated her life to this. Whilst this is great for everyone around Lucy, at times it can mean that her own needs are left unsatisfied.

For example, Lucy has been renting a house in Holland Park (Brisbane) for the last 4 years and recently was given notice that she had to vacate the property. Rather than fight this decision, she has moved her belongings into storage and is temporarily living in a friend’s bedroom. She is keen to find another house to move into, but hasn’t found the right home as yet.

I have heard Lucy speaking many times about the joy she would feel if she were to own her own home. Given the recent circumstances, I have felt compelled to take action to help make this dream of Lucy’s come true. In my quest to find a home for Lucy, I realised that I’m going to need to get the message out to as many local people as possible, so that we can find her a place to call “home”.

Here is what I am trying to organise for Lucy... I would like to find her a house that is pet-friendly (she has a small dog and cat), of at least 3 bedrooms and initially available for rent. It’d be ideal if it was located within a short drive of Mansfield State High School (preferred suburbs include Holland Park, Mansfield, Upper Mount Gravatt and Wishart), although this is not essential. The most important factor is that the owner of the house is flexible enough to allow Lucy to buy it from them sometime in the future.

Lucy is quite able and willing to pay full market rent (or possibly even more than this, if it was agreed that part of her payments would count as a deposit towards the purchase of the home). Although she’s one of the most charitable people I know, Lucy is NOT looking for charity. All she wants is just a chance to move into a property that she can eventually call her own and not be forced to vacate because a Landlord has a change of circumstances.

This is where I am hoping you could help... Perhaps someone you know (or maybe even yourself?), may have something suitable or know of something suitable. In particular, you could help if:
  • You own a house that’s currently vacant (or soon to become vacant) and you are willing to rent it initially and then sell it sometime in the future.
  • You know of a house that’s currently vacant (or soon to become vacant) and you are willing to ask the owner if they may consider selling it sometime in the future.
  • You know of a house that’s currently on the market for sale or rent and you are willing to enquire if the owner would be willing to rent it for a period of time first, before eventually selling it.
This could also benefit the owner, because Lucy may be willing to pay more than a normal market rental amount each week for the right house. This means the owner would be receiving extra income, plus would have the peace of mind that Lucy will treat the house like her very own home because she fully intends to buy it.

If you know of an owner of a house that might be suitable, or even can just point me in the direction of a helpful real estate agent (or anyone else?) that you think might be able to help, please take a moment to contact me and let me know. This is a genuine request for a good friend of mine who is in need.

Lucy has glowing testimonials from people who’s life she has touched. She is a wonderful person, very peaceful and humble and has an optimistic outlook on life that’s quite contagious. She deserves this opportunity and I really want to be a part of making this happen for Lucy. I’m willing to make as many phone calls as it takes and I feel confident that there is a way that this can be organised so that everyone involved is satisfied with the arrangement.

If you think you might be able to help, or even just feel you would like to find out more, please reply to this post or send me an Email. Thank you.

Jason.
